Cybernetic Implants, such as muscle augmentation, use nanotechnology. Regular civilian-grade cybernetic implants don’t require external power, relying on the natural body, or internal stable power. This is commonly for repairing otherwise irreparable bodyparts, or creating cybernetic replacement body parts.
In the case of specialized or extreme augmentation, external power may be required; an example of this would be a Cybernetic Eye or Improved Leg Muscles, which are considered both implants and nano-utilities. This internal Nanotechnology is called Bio-Utility.
Nano-Utility describes any any nano-technology that doesn’t rely on the body to be used. This may include personal shields and cybernetic visors. These objects tend to run on their own power sources. They are special constructs, often tailored to their intended owners, and function much worse to someone who is not trained in their use.
